The family of Anna Marie Deskin will receive friends at a visitation tomorrow night Thursday, August 1 from 5 – 7 pm at Immanuel United Methodist Church which is located at 2900 49th Street in Des Moines. Services will be held at 1 pm on Friday, August 2 also at Immanuel United Methodist Church in Des Moines. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Easter 2019, God gave us this beautiful sunrise during our Easter Sunrise service on LeMaster Hill in Granger, Iowa. We were so blessed by all who showed up and share in this holy gathering to share in the celebration of the Risen Christ. Another wonderful night of youth group in the books. Tonight everything was focused on Easter. The kids learned about the importance of this week and the coming events of biblical history. We talked about Christ's sacrifice for us all. They made "empty tomb" snacks (thank you to Heidi Hall for finding the recipe) and played some easter related games. Dont worry the eggs were hard boiled.

Had a fun filled night at youth group tonight! With the kids being on spring break they wanted to do a movie night. We watched "Facing the Giants". Everyone involved had a great night! We wrapped up the night with a couple games and a devotinal based on the teachings of the movie. Always remember, NOTHING is impossible with God!

The youth group had a great time doing some volunteer work at Meals from the Heartland! These kids did an AMAZING job! They completed 16 boxes! Each box held 36 bags, each bag is 6 servings, and we did 16 boxes=3,456 meals in 2 hours!! It was quite interesting seeing a few of the kids figure out how to operate a hair net. The leaders feel so blessed and thankful that we get to spend each Wednesday night with these amazing kiddos.

Well, Here we are another Sunday of snow storms. It is 6:45 a.m. on Sunday, February 17, 2019. I am at the church and I will tell you that things are not good out there. Coming in on HWY 141 they are plowed but snow packed never got above 45 mph. The side street are not all that good and we have not had a chance to plow the parking lot or do the sidewalks and yes it is still snowing. I am asking you to be very safe and do not take any risk to get to Sunday school or church this morning. I will be cancelling all of our meetings here at the church today. I will stay here to make sure anyone who does come in can get in. Please and I say PLEASE SAFETY above all else. I will be keeping you all in my prayers. When you see this please call those who do not have Facebook and let them know to be safe. Thank you and God Bless.

It is with great sadness and even greater concern for the safety of our church family that due to the weather forecast for our area we are canceling all evening events here at Emmanuel United Methodist Church. Due to the weather and extreme cold temperatures. HCI Team will not meet this evening, Tuesday January 29 due to the weather. We have rescheduled our meeting for next Tuesday, February 5th at 6:30 pm. EUMC Youth will not meet tomorrow night since Woodward/Granger schools will not in session tomorrow. There will be NO Super Bowl party due to no time for planning. Church office will be closed tomorrow. We want everyone to take care and be safe. God Bless

Merry Christmas If you are looking for a place to worship tonight in celebration of Christmas. Please join us at Emmanuel UMC, in Granger, Iowa. We will have two candle light services this evening our first worship time will be 7:00 pm. and our second service time will be at 10:00 pm. Another year of Vacation Bible school has come and passed! What a great year it was! The kids had so much fun learning the weeks scripture lessons and singing and dancing (even the adult leaders enjoyed the songs though surely they would deny it). A special shout out to all that helped with this years ROLLING RIVER RAMPAGE VBS! A huge thank you to Heidi Hall for all she does! Thank you to each and every one of those that made VBS possible! GOD BLESS!
